British Off Road Biking: The Scheme
To qualify people wishing to lead groups of cyclists both on and off-road within Great Britain and Ireland under summer conditions.
The level of qualification (1-3) dictates the constraints of the operating area as regards technicality of the route and its remoteness.
There is no place within the scope of the scheme to cover activities under winter conditions. This is not to say that activities have to be restricted to certain months of the year but that areas have to be restricted by the condition of both the ground and the weather.
All courses are based upon the same principles and core skills, with the level of award dictating the standard to which they are understood and demonstrated.
Note: Attending a training course does not constitute a qualification.
